Our Process
Sioux Erosion Control consults with companies or all sizes to identify and schedule services. Our process provides the most innovative technology and eco-friendly solutions in the industry.
Silt Fence & Silt Dike or Straw Waddles
The first step in our erosion control process is to establish a workable perimeter. Sioux Erosion Control’s team will construct a silt fence or dike around the perimeter of the job site in order to control and retain sediment during the ground preparation stages of the project.

Veg Mulch
The second step in the erosion control process is to lay out mulch and hay or hydroseed the project site. The Veg Mulch and Hay step allows for our team to effectively cover the work site with a layer of protection that also aids in the erosion control while maintaining fertile ground for the sodding to occur.

Preparing the Ground
Sioux Erosion Control workers will begin preparing the ground in order to complete the sodding process. Our team will till and tear up the dirt and loosen the ground for the sod to be laid. We will then add any additional topsoil, if needed. Finally, finish grading the top soil to make sure it’s smooth enough for the sod to be installed.

Sodding and Installation
Sioux Erosion Control has more than 20 years experience in the sodding process. Over the past three years, yearly sod totals have been: 2014: 5,131,77 SY Sod (1060 Acres), 2013: 3, 553, 950 SY Sod (734 Acres), 2012: 3, 380, 450 SY Sod (698 Acres). We specialize in proper installation while maintaining the most environmentally sound practices in the industry. We deliver our sod and prepare for it to laid at the work site. All of our rolls are bound with a brown, biodegradable netting that is virtually undetectable.

Watering, Mowing and Maintenance
Once the sodding process is complete, Sioux Erosion Control will water, mow and maintain the work site for the first several weeks in order to guarantee proper growth and laying of the sod. After our maintenance sessions are complete, we will turn over the work site to the owner and complete the job.
